Chapter Thirty Eight:     Squatch Ladies

ADAM narrates some details, Tuesday, September 1--

Back at the Hacienda, we were all surprised that the mission had gone so well and so fast, Daklakt and Agent Stinger were back home after only 3½ days. It's hard just to get to Aket and back in that amount of time and that's only [SECRET] miles away from here, not way over on the other side of Canada.

I spoke with the four squatch girls-- or rather ladies, three of them being mature or middle-aged-- to get the rest of the story. Who had kidnapped them and how? Squatch chicks are STRONG and almost impossible to sneak up on. They're formidable, not even big burly squatch males dare to push them around with impunity because those ladies know where to kick a guy so that it hurts.

However, guns scare everyone, including me.

We started by trying to find out where these ladies came from. Well, they all speak Nokhontli with the same accent as me and every squatch I know, so you can't localize them by dialect. The Nokhon language is Atli-based and perpetuated by mass telepathic comunions every Full Moon at all the local kha-trats, thus shared by all Nokhons the world over since the beginning of time as they know it.

Asking them where their home was only resulted in useless answers, too generic to mean anything: "from near the big flat rock" or "the zone of many trees" or "near the accursed NokhSo temple ruins". I did manage to eliminate oceans and volcanoes from the posibilities. Old Da-nama-hat made telepathic contact from over in Aket and eventually established that they probably came from somewhere in NE Canada.

Eventually someone mentioned Cobalt, Ontario, but that came later.

The impressively adept telepath among those females, Maqualama, is also the youngest-- I'm guessing 15-17-ish --and pretty cute, a bit like Masnia. The other three "ladies" are neither as smart nor as attractive as her, more run-of-the-mill older Bigfoot women; shabby. stout and shaggy and too big-boobed. I don't mean to denigrate them about their looks but I do sort of wonder why professional sex-trafficking gangsters would make the effort to kidnap squatches as sex-slaves when they are only sexy once every full moon. There was only one of them who could be considered moderately young and pretty, being Maqualama herself.

So the kidnapper's motivation would have to be shyøma. Looks don't matter when that smell hits you. I've always worried about what happens when humans finally discover the most powerful aphrodisiac in the world. Yeah, even though I'm the one who has blabbed about it in my very own AooE Document, which I only did because my spirit vision insisted that I do. I've been running on faith here.

It seems that the girls were heading for a kha-rat when a gang of human men came upon them, who became affected by the shyøma and went crazy with lust. They'd been accompanied by a young male squatch, who the kidnappers shot with a pistol and left for dead, scaring the four females enough to capture them. They were herded onto what seems to have been a container truck and transported to Toronto, where their captors delivered them to the headquarters of a sex-trafficking ring. They had even procured a supply of those little blue flowers, so somebody knew what they were dealing with. (It can only be a someone who has read my infamous AooE Document online, so I guess it's partly my fault.)

Agent Stinger had intended to pull off this mission in secret, but that was not to be. You can't take airplanes across the continent without it costing money for fuel and man-hours, therfore getting noticed by accountants and budget politics, even in the military. Agent Stinger had contacts that made the trip to Toronto possible, but afterwards the expenses had to be reported and the account justified. Someone might be in trouble for unauthorized use of military equipment. Although the flights they took were not detours, but already approved cargo runs.

Lucky for us the "leaked" story about a daring rescue of those poor sex-trafficked Sasquatch maidens was a big hit. Daklakht became a media superhero once the story went viral: short interview clips were all over YourTube and Spacebook, "Bigfoot Supercop" blurbs, dramatic shots of him trying to avoid the parapazzi's cameras (while Extra-Special Secret Agent Stinger managed to lurk back into the shadows and remain anonymous).

But what about the Bad Guys: the kidnappers who raped those squatch ladies and kept them tied and bound for days ? Were they ever caught or punished or even identified? Not yet, it seems. We do know that corrupt political agencies are protecting the criminals involved, so it might be difficult to even try to litigate from here in Washington State. But the abduction seems to have been well organized with military precision. The women tell us that a young Nokhon named Daswachat was murdered, but no one has as of yet reported finding a dead Bigfoot.

I don't know if we can ever arrest them, but if Daklakht ever gets his mighty hands on them...

In the midst of all this speculation I got an e-mail from Bob Burns in Cobalt, Ontario. That guy we hired to administer a new local branch of the Nokhon Nation Project over there? This arrived about a day after the full moon.

from ROBERT BURNS to ADAM LEROY FOREST c/o NNP:
emergency in Cobalt

Adam, I need to report what has happoened here in Cobvalt. Of course you know that there has just been a full moon, with all the drama that engenders in Nokhon society, kha-rats and the like. Although this time the drama is much more extreme than usual: such as attempted murder. Whenever there are those Full Moon ceremonies I usually avoid visiting Bigfoot House for that week when shyøma will be flowing. And no, I have not yet attended a kha-rat, they sound just a wee tad too extreme for my pedestrian tastes-- as in too frightening and probably too humiliating as well. But I did go to the House today, at least a day earlier than recommended (sniffing carefully so as to not get hit by some lingering vestiges of shyøma). I just had this feeling that I should check something out, not sure what or why.

Lord, it was lucky that I did. Bigfoot House was still empty, no one had yet returned from their kha-rat, which is always held somewhere in the woods far off from town so as not to subject the unsuspecting denizens of Cobalt to a super-aphrodisiac that could turn their world around. But there was someone else in the House: a dead-looking Nokhon guy lying flat on his back, absolutely inert on the floor.

He'd obviously been shot, I could make out three soggy bloody zones on his hairy body, but there was not a pool of blood on the floor. Which made me wonder if he was still alive. Looking closer I saw bloody bubbles popping in his nostrils, so he was still breathing, although slowly and weakly. So I dared to shake him a little, and he stirred, but just barely. He looked very young, almost a boy, nowhere near as big as you, Adam.

I almost let myself surrender to panic: what do I do with a dying Bigfoot? I wondered if one may call 911 for a Sasquatch? Suddenly my vocabulary in Nokhontli went dry in my mouth and I could only babble some ruddy confused English, which he most likely couldn't understand, saying "Hey there, hang on, guy, we'll get help, hang on."

I did call 911 and it was my friend Stan's wife Louise who took the call (Cobalt's a small town) so I told her what was happening and she began to panic too (we don't get many attempted murders here), although between us we did manage to get the town's one and only ambulance to come and pick him up fast.

It was good he was not too big to fit into the ambulance, nor too heavy for us to bear him. Adam, I've read that you weigh about 38 stone, at least this kid was not that heavy, but it still took three of us to get him into the ambulance. At the hospital we got him up on a gurney and wheeled him into surgury. The doctors took over after the nurses quickly trimmed off all his bushy body hair so that they could find all the bullet holes, which made him suddenly look like almost any regular human young male, although really muscular, and with some exotic racial features. Everyone relaxed a little: this wasn't a monster, just a very big boy.

We finally noticed that he was actually conscious, although keeping his eyes tightly closed most of the time. If he was in pain, he gave no sign, it looked more as if he was afraid of us and all our machinery, but he never whimpered or protested: a perfect patient.

We don't know how long he'd been laying on that floor with those three bullets in him. It must have hurt horribly, day after day gasping for air with two punctured lungs. Squatches must have a high tolerance for pain, or at least, this one does.

But once the bullets had been removed and the holes in his lungs plugged he tried to stand up, weakly, staggering, but we patted his bed and got him to relax. When we offered him some hospital food-- granola: I know squatches like that better than jell-o --he smiled, bobbed his head and greedily ate everything we offered him.

So now I'm waiting for Maliima and friends to get back from the woods, so that she can speak Nokhontli to him and we can find out what happened. Like who shot him and why?

Later, Bob

I called Bob on the phone right away and told him: "Next time you go to the hospital please call me and let me talk to Daswachat."
"You know his name?"
"I'm pretty sure. If so, he fills some gaps in what we're learning about the kidnapping of the four squatch women. I think it happened right there in Cobalt."
"Eh? What kidnapping?" he asked.
So I filled him in.

And oh yeah, later this evening I also got a phone call from my "good friend" Alejandra Ireña Coronado. Yes, President of the USA, that friend. We discussed the "four female" situation and she was sympathetic to covering some expenses and offering asylum for them in exchange for a Foto-op at McChord AF Base. So that's on, any day soon.

At first the four females were quite insecure about all the attention from so many of the "horrible" little human folk they had been religiously avoiding all their lives, but they did enjoy the pampering and beautifying, having had their matted and tangled body hair trimmed away and their skin now pampered with soothing lotions for the first time ever, people being nice to them, being invited to dinner parties, seeing themselves on TV; they're getting used to all that stuff pretty quick.

At the moment, we have them staying in our Refugee Camp. Some have even started trying to learn English in Pokey's language class.

They've also been invited to visit Aket, especially Maqualama, whom the Elder Da-nama-hat wishes to meet in person, thinking that together they might be able to advance some techniques of telepathy. Evidently she's a real powerhouse.

Actually, I too have to go back to Aket at some point, I'd been working on some physical applictions of haka-magic when this emergency popped up, so I can escort any of those girls who want to go there. After the foto-op, that is, can't snub my girl-friend the President, you know.

But for now its nice to be together with Melly and Lissandra again. I'd been missing them while I was in Aket. Shame I can't ever take them with me. Or can I?
